The aim of the programme is to introduce students to kaupapa tuku iho (inherited values) practice and the skills and knowledge required to work effectively with r艒p奴 tuku iho (wh膩nau, hap奴 and iwi) to contribute to the social wellbeing of M膩ori people and the nation. Graduates will understand and have the skills and knowledge to practice as a social worker. The aim is also to produce graduates who will be eligible to apply for registration with the Social Workers Registration Board.
Entry requirements
Each course of the programme is located within tikanga M-眉ori and approximately one quarter of the programme is allocated to te reo M-眉ori studies, thus, strong motivation to become bilingual is required for entry to this programme. Students will require research assistance from an Iwi or Hap+陆 and therefore candidates for the programme need to be able to provide letters from their Iwi/Hap+陆, committing their support to the candidates.
In accordance with Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) regulations, all prospective and current students in the Toiora Wh-眉nau programmes at Te W-眉nanga o Raukawa will need to undergo a police vet each year. Students must be aged 17 years old or over.
Prospective students will also have an interview and write a 300 word paper outlining their interest in the toiora wh-眉nau area. If you are a returning student of more than 8 years ago an interview process with Ng-眉 P+陆kenga will take place prior to enrolment to determine training currency.

Te 奥腻苍补苍驳补 o Raukawa is a tikanga M膩ori tertiary education provider with its main campus based in 艑taki, Aotearoa, New Zealand. Hailed at the time as the 'smallest university in the world' Te 奥腻苍补苍驳补 o Raukawa was established by the Raukawa Marae Trustees in 1981 with only two students.
A special and unique place of learning, Te 奥腻苍补苍驳补 o Raukawa has become recognised over the last 30 years as an opportunity for all to learn within a tikanga M膩ori community under the principles of the iwi development strategy, Whakatupuranga Rua Mano: Generation 2000.
Whakatupuranga Rua Mano captured the health and wellbeing aspirations of the ART Confederation of Ng膩ti Toa Rangatira, Te Ati Awa ki Whakarongotai and Ng膩ti Raukawa ki te tonga in the lower North Island of Aotearoa. These are the founding iwi of Te 奥腻苍补苍驳补 o Raukawa.
