Working alongside experienced marina professionals, you'll develop an awareness of operating specialised equipment like travel lifts, forklifts and boat trailers, while learning safe vessel launching and retrieval procedures. You'll gain hands-on experience in, water safety and yard safety, boat lifting operations, biosecurity and environmental and customer service, compliance and teamwork. As you progress, you'll build understanding of environmental compliance, safety regulations and facility maintenance 鈥 from managing wastewater systems to maintaining security and coordinating haul-out schedules. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll become part of a team that keeps New Zealand's boating community connected to the water, ensuring vessels are handled with care and facilities run efficiently year-round.
