This scholarship is intended to honour Sir John's legacy of commitment to supporting the next generation and giving back to the community. It also provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to receive mentoring and coaching from professionals working in New Zealand's financial markets. The scholarship is open to students entering their first year of study and majoring in a degree programme at the Wellington School of Business and Government.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens, Permanent Residents or hold a residence class visa to remain in New Zealand. Applicants must have achieved an NCEA Level 2 Certificate endorsed with Merit (or the equivalent in another qualification). Applicants must be entering their first year of study and intending to enrol full time in a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Wellington School of Business and Government. Preference will be given to students who are majoring in a discipline within the School of Accounting and Commercial Law, or related disciplines within the Commerce Faculty.
