The Stanley Paris Scholarships were established in 2019 by the University of Otago, from a generous donation by Drs Stanley and Catherine Paris. These scholarships support students in the area of musculoskeletal and manual therapy at the School of Physiotherapy, enhancing the School's profile as a leader in research and clinical practice. The Postgraduate Scholarship provides a tuition fee rebate and may offer a stipend for living costs, while the PhD Scholarship provides a tuition fee rebate for up to three years and a higher stipend.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be New Zealand registered physiotherapists and enrolled or intending to enrol at the University of Otago for the year of the award in either a Postgraduate Diploma in Physiotherapy or a Master of Physiotherapy focusing on orthopaedic manual therapy for the Postgraduate Scholarship. For the PhD Scholarship, applicants must be New Zealand trained and registered physiotherapists wishing to pursue a clinical research career in New Zealand and enrolled or intending to enrol in a Doctor of Philosophy programme focusing on orthopaedic manual therapy.
