The scholarship, which is made possible by the generous gifting of funds by the 2009-2017 Chancellor, Dr John F Ward, was established by the University of Otago Council in 2019 to support students who have demonstrated academic ability and who have a disability that makes attending University a challenge.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be studying with a significant disability of at least six months previous duration, have achieved NCEA Level 2 endorsed with merit or equivalent, and be completing or have completed their final year of secondary schooling in Southland.
