A Prize for the MBChB Part VI student with the most distinguished academic performance of the Medical Programme. The Prize was established in 1969 by the Rotary Club of Auckland for ‘the Most Distinguished Medical Graduate of the Year’. It was initiated by Dr Lloyd Richwhite, the then President of the Rotary Club of Auckland with the help of Professor Cecil Lewis, who was then Dean of the newly established Medical School at the University of Auckland. It was established to enhance the long association between Rotary and the medical profession.
