Hawkes Bay is growing 165,000 hectares of highly productive plantation forests of which 127,180 hectares are managed by members of the Hawkes Bay Forestry Group.
This renewable natural resource supports the largest processing plant in the Bay and a significant part of the business of the Port of Napier.
The Group recognises the need for effective communication to help understand the contribution forestry is making to our economic, social and environmental well-being and to encourage local people to become part of this exciting story.
